Fayette County Student Leaders Learn Valuable Lessons During Youth Leadership Conference
Fayette County students Alisha West and Forrest Deal attended the Alabama Farmers Federation’s Youth Leadership Conference at the 4-H Center in Columbiana Oct. 2-3. The Fayette County Farmers Federation sponsored West and Deal at the conference, where 46 ninth-10th grade students learned about social media etiquette, servant leadership, politics and agricultural misconceptions. West and Deal are ninth-graders at Fayette County High School and live in Fayette. From left are West and Deal.
Fayette County Educators Net Ag Knowledge At Summer Institute
Kindergarten through sixth-grade teachers and other educators from around the state learned more about Alabama's largest industry while attending the Alabama Agriculture In The Classroom Summer Institute. Held in Tuscaloosa May 31-June 2, the institute included farm tours, workshops, seminars and a farmer discussion panel. Attendees are pictured with Hale County Catfish Farmer Bubba Drury.
