Henry County’s Jim Yance was re-elected chairman of the Alabama Farmers Federation State Beef Committee during the 2019 Commodity Organization Meeting in Montgomery Feb. 5. Henry County's Peters, Montgomery County's Green Recognized During Alabama Landowners Conference
Leigh Peters of Henry County, center, and William Green of Montgomery County, right, received the Gary Fortenberry Partnership Award, Central Region during the Alabama Landowners Conference Awards Program Oct. 15 at the Marriott Prattville Hotel and Conference Center. This award recognizes individuals who have helped the Alabama TREASURE Forest Association (ATFA) carry out its mission through building and growing county chapters, empowering and encouraging landowners, or outreach efforts to youth and others.

The inaugural Alabama Landowners Conference was presented by the Alabama Natural Resources Council, the Alabama Tree Farm Committee and ATFA.
Henry County Student Participates In Alfa Youth Leadership Conference

Henry County Students Studying Agriculture Earn College Scholarships
Auburn University students Caleb Nall, Kaitlyn Chestnut, Cason McCoy and Elizabeth Peterson of Henry County received $1,750 scholarships from the Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation and Henry County Farmers Federation. They were recognized at the Alabama Farmers Federation’s Scholarship Reception at the Ham Wilson Livestock Arena in Auburn Sept. 20. Peterson is a sophomore from Abbeville studying agricultural business and economics, while McCoy is a freshman in pre-biosystems engineering from Newville. Nall is a junior in animal sciences production management, Chestnut is a sophomore in agricultural communications. They are from Headland.
