Childers Brings Home Banners Following Junior Beef Expo Events
Caden Childers of Morgan County won Fifth Overall Champion during the Junior Beef Expo (JBE) Market Show March 15. The steer was also Reserve Champion in the All Other Breeds Division. JBE is presented by the Alabama Farmers Federation and held in conjunction with the SLE Rodeo at Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery. County Farmers Visit U.S. Rep In Washington, D.C.
U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Huntsville, met with constituents during the Alabama Farmers Federation’s biennial Washington Legislative Conference in the nation’s capital March 5-7. During breakfast meetings, farmers and their congressman discussed issues of local and national relevance. Brooks is pictured with Morgan County Farmers Federation President Mark Byrd and wife Sandy.
Morgan County Farmers Federation Earns 2018 Award of Excellence
The Morgan County Farmers Federation received the Award for Excellence Dec. 3. during the Alabama Farmers Federation’s 97th Annual Meeting in Montgomery. To earn the distinction, counties must score at least 80 points out of 100 on the award application, which covers involvement in agricultural programs, governmental affairs, county Women’s Leadership and Young Farmers committees.

Lee Receives Alabama Farmers Federation Senior Leader Award
Morgan County Farmers Federation member Hal Lee received the Senior Leader Award from the Alabama Farmers Federation during an awards ceremony Dec. 3.
Lee has served on the county Federation Board of Directors for 38 years and held various leadership positions including president, Poultry Committee chair and Young Farmers chair. He is a previous member of the Alabama Farmers Federation Board of Directors and past North Area vice president.
Lee received the award during the second general session of the Federation's 97th Annual Meeting in Montgomery, which drew over 1,200 attendees to the Capital City. From left are Federation Executive Director Paul Pinyan and Lee.
The Senior Leader Award is reserved for individuals who are over 70 years old and have served as a county Farmers Federation president, State Women’s Leadership Committee chair or Federation State Board member.
Morgan County Student Participates In Alfa Youth Leadership Conference
Clayton Copeland from Morgan County sharpened leadership skills during the Alfa Youth Leadership Conference at the 4-H Center in Columbiana Oct. 8-9. Morgan County Young Farmer Competes In Annual Discussion Meet Contest
Hunter Garnett of Hartselle in Morgan County was one of 15 competitors in the 2018 Young Farmers Discussion Meet contest at the Alabama Farmers Federation’s 46th Commodity Producers Conference in Montgomery Aug. 4.
