6 slices bread, cubed
1 stick butter, melted
1 pound bulk sausage, browned, drained and crumbled
1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese, more if desired
2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
In a small bowl, dip the cubed bread into the melted butter.
In a deep 9-by-13-inch casserole dish, layer butter-soaked bread cubes, sausage and cheese. In a medium bowl, beat eggs and stir in milk and dry ingredients. Pour over casserole. Cover and refrigerate overnight before cooking. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes at 350 F.
