The 2017 Alfa Cares Campaign raised almost $100,000 for the American Cancer Society. The campaign concluded with a Pray in Pink event at the Alfa Insurance home office in Montgomery.
Alfa Insurance® and Alabama Farmers Federation™ employees, members and customers again proved their commitment to winning the fight against cancer by raising $99,239 in this year’s Alfa Cares Campaign.
The total donation, which benefits the American Cancer Society (ACS), included $74,239 collected throughout October and a $25,000 corporate pledge from the Alfa Foundation.
“I am continuously inspired and amazed at the generosity displayed by our employees, staff and customers,” said Alfa President Jimmy Parnell. “We all have a personal connection that drives us to end the fight against cancer, and I hope this year’s fundraising efforts will help bring ACS closer to finding a cure.”
In addition to donations accepted at service centers across Alfa's core states, donations were also made at the Home Office and online at AlfaCares.com. Alfa Cares merchandise sales in service centers; Home Office raffle ticket sales and dress down donations; and a pink lemonade and popcorn sale hosted by Little Alfa Childcare Center also benefitted this year's fundraising efforts.
"This campaign is named Alfa Cares, and rightfully so," Parnell said. "From personnel and students at our day care center to customers across Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi, a shared passion of supporting communities and building a cancer-free future for friends and loved ones is evident. I am humbled by the outpouring of support put forward this year."
Since the Alfa Cares Campaign kicked off in 2015, the company has raised $421,529.84 for ACS. Learn more at AlfaCares.com.
