The Alabama Association of Conservation Districts’ Forestry and Wildlife Committee will host a Forestry and Wildlife School Aug. 21-22 at the National Guard Armory at 133 Walnut St. in Brent.
Landowners and land managers are invited to learn about wildlife management, timber management, feral hog control and more. The event will include a tour of a pole plant Thursday afternoon and a forestry field tour Friday morning.
Early registration before Aug. 8 is $75. After Aug. 8, the fee is $95. Registration forms are available at swcc.alabama.gov. Click on “Calendar,” then scroll to “Forestry and Wildlife School for Landowners.”
Registered foresters attending will receive Continuing Education Credits for each day.
Sponsors include the Alabama Association of Conservation Districts, Alabama Soil and Water Conservation Committee; the Bibb and Walker Soil and Water Conservation Districts, USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service, Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and Bibb County Forestry.
