MONTGOMERY, AL -- The state's best homegrown fruits and vegetables will be on display at this Saturday's 44th C. Mac Johnson Farmers Market Day.
The event honors the late C. Mac Johnson, a driving force in the creation of the State Farmers Market in 1971.
Among the events planned are a Watermelon Eatin' Contest and a Corn Shuckin' Contest.
Other activities include:
- live music
- craft vendors
- pony rides and much more.
All activities are free of charge to the public and will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Montgomery State Farmers Market on Federal Drive next to Garrett Coliseum.
Farmers Market Day will offer something exciting for everyone to enjoy, so get there early to find the best selection of your favorite fruits and vegetables.
