The Alabama Farmers Federation welcomed Phillip Johns to its management team Dec. 4, when he was promoted to chief financial officer (CFO)

Johns joined the Federation in 2015 as accounting manager and is a graduate of the Alfa Leadership Academy, the company’s in-house leadership training program. He formerly worked with Jackson Thornton, where he served on the team auditing the Federation.

“I’m humbled and honored to step into the CFO role for the Federation,” said Johns, 31. “I look forward to building relationships, continuing the legacy that has been built into our department and innovating to better serve our members and staff.”

Johns replaces former CFO Terrie Channell, who retired Nov. 30 after over 34 years with the Federation.
