Elections, auctions and award presentations are on the agenda for the Alabama Farmers Federation’s 96th annual meeting Dec. 3-4 in Montgomery. Registration is open for the conference, held at the Renaissance Hotel and Montgomery Convention Center.
The deadline to register for hotel rooms is Oct. 18. Meal ticket orders are due Nov. 20.
Federation, Young Farmers and Women’s Leadership Committee business and caucus meetings are peppered throughout the conference. Delegates will vote on policy changes and elect members to the state board of directors.
Country music artist Travis Tritt will entertain the crowd Sunday evening. Tritt is best known for hits like “It’s a Great Day to be Alive” and “I’m Gonna Be Somebody.”
Other conference events include recognizing the Service to Agriculture award winner; live and silent auctions benefiting the Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation; the final round of Discussion Meet; an ag issues briefing; and honoring county and communication award winners.
A keynote address by Gov. Kay Ivey anchors the conference Monday night.
