Annie Dee of Pickens County was reappointed to the United Soybean Board Dec. 4 for a third three-year term. State Soybean Committee Chair Colt Clemmons of Lauderdale County is an alternate director.
Chad Henderson and Stuart Sanderson of Limestone County received first place in the state division of the 2017 National Wheat Yield Contest. Henderson’s irrigated winter wheat yielded 101.78 bushels an acre, while Sanderson’s dryland wheat yielded 107.83 bushels an acre.
The Alabama Catfish Producers helped sponsor an industry and research update in Demopolis Dec. 6. More than a dozen researchers and presenters attended the meeting.
