Female farmers and rural entrepreneurs have two opportunities to grow their influence on the agriculture industry through American Farm Bureau Federation programs.
The 11th Women’s Communication Boot Camp is Oct. 24-27 in Washington, D.C. The three-day intensive training offers sessions on public speaking, testifying, targeting messages and working with the media.
Fifteen women will be selected to participate. Applications are due June 15 at tinyurl.com/womensbootcamp.
Participants in the 2018 Rural Entrepreneurship Challenge must run for-profit businesses focused on food or agriculture and be 18 years old at the time of online submission.
Applicants will compete for almost $150,000 in startup funds. Four finalists receive $15,000 and compete for an additional $25,000. Six best-in-show winners receive $10,000.
