Tony Tooke, Lamar County native, became the 18th chief of the U.S. Forest Service Sept. 5. The Mississippi State University graduate, who was raised on a 200-acre farm in Detroit, has worked 37 years with the Forest Service.
Hal Taylor is the secretary of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, as of early August. Taylor served as acting secretary since April.
Trey Glenn has been named the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Region 4 administrator. The former Alabama Department of Environmental Management head will oversee EPA operations in the Southeast.
