Renowned Ozark, Ala., artist Jack Deloney and Alabama Farmers Federation President Jerry A. Newby unveiled Harvest at Home, a new painting commissioned for the Federation’s MBNA Platinum Plus Visa Card, during the Commodity Producers Conference in Columbus, Ga. Deloney’s first commissioned work for the Federation, Here At Home, has been hugely successful since its release in 1994. The new painting, which is in keeping with the style and mood of Here at Home, captures members of a 1940s farm family as they go about their daily chores. Deloney said Federation members will have an opportunity to purchase prints of the new painting this year at a 15 percent discount, and the new credit card design also will be available this fall.”Harvest at Home celebrates the family farm,” Deloney said. “Mother works in the garden while little brother punches apples from a tree. Brother and sister draw water from the well. Father leads a muscular, working mule from a barn that marks a successful farm. Big brother shovels corn into the nearly full crib. Grandfather plants the seeds of family, farming and memories when he spends a few magical moments with his grandson on the John Deere.”Deloney got his inspiration for the painting from memories of his grandparents’ farm. The house with the wrap-around porch and oaks and pecans is Grandfather Ab Deloney’s, who lived on what is now County Road 21 in Dale County.Limited edition prints are available in three sizes. Deloney is offering 1,500 traditional, signed and numbered lithographs for $95 plus shipping and tax. The lithographs measure 28 1/4 inches by 19 1/2 inches. He also has produced 500 signed and numbered Giclee prints which take advantage of a new, high-quality printing process that is virtually indistinguishable from the original painting. Medium-size Giclees, measuring 16 inches by 11 inches, will sell for $155, and large Giclees, measuring 32 inches by 22 inches, are $295. Artist’s proofs and remarques also are available for an additional charge. For more information, contact the Jack Deloney Art Gallery at 1-800-239-4177.
