Scholarships
For more than 50 years, the Alabama Farmers Federation has provided scholarships to individuals preparing for careers in agriculture and agribusiness. Our goal is to support the next generation in their effort to improve Alabama agriculture.
Alfa Foundation Scholarship
The Alfa Foundation will award 100 scholarships for $1,000 each to students attending Alabama colleges, universities and technical schools.
Scholarship Requirements
Applicants of the Alfa Foundation Scholarship Program award must:
- Have a current Alabama Farmers Federation Membership issued in his/her name. Annual membership is available by calling 1-800-964-2532, by registering online, or by visiting an Alfa Insurance office. Membership must be issued in the name of the scholarship applicant to be eligible for consideration.
- High school seniors, graduates, or current post-secondary undergraduates enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time accredited program at a two- year or four- year college, university, or vocational-technical school located in the state of Alabama for the entire upcoming academic year.
- Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Note: Alfa Mutual Insurance employees and their dependent children are eligible to apply. A current Alabama Farmers Federation membership issued in the applicant’s name is required. Member must be in good standing with the Alabama Farmers Federation, Inc.
The application period for 2025 begins November 1, 2024 and runs through February 3, 2025.
Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation Scholarship
The Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation will award up to 67 scholarships for $2,000 each to students majoring in agriculture or forestry at Auburn University, Alabama A&M University and Tuskegee University.
Scholarship Requirements
Applicants of the Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation Scholarship must:
- Be a member of the Alabama Farmers Federation or under 25 years of age and the child of a Federation member.
- Be a U.S citizen, exhibit good moral character and citizenship, and exhibit excellent academic potential.
- Have been formally accepted by, and/or presently attending Auburn University, Alabama A&M University or Tuskegee University as a full-time student with a declared agricultural, forestry, or pre-veterinary major.
- Submit a completed application including all requested materials by February 3, 2025.
Selection Process
- Submit your application electronically by the February 3, 2025 deadline for consideration.
- The Alabama Farmers Federation’s Scholarship Committee will review applications and recommend county winners to county Farmers Federation boards of directors for approval.

Receiving the Award
- Alabama Farmers Federation Foundations pays $2,000 for tuition to Auburn University, Alabama A&M Foundations and Tuskegee University. The student’s university will officially apply credit to student’s tuition account.
- Student and parents/guardians receive an invitation to an event formally recognizing scholarship winners.
- Scholarships do not automatically renew each year, even if the student continues to meet all requirements.
- Students must submit an application each year.
