AFBF Convention

Delegates from 51 Farm Bureaus, including the Alabama Farmers Federation, attend. Delegates vote on policy revisions, Young Farmers compete in national contests, and members attend educational workshops and hear from nationally renowned speakers.

APPA Meeting

Peanut growers gather in Dothan to elect board members, receive updates and attend the AL-FL Trade Show featuring industry leaders and businesses.

Timeframe: February 


Young Farmers Conference

Young Farmers aged 18-35 gather to network, compete in the Outstanding Young Farm Family contest and tour top-notch farms. 

Timeframe: Late February to early March


Washington Legislative Conference

Federation members network with Congressional leaders and appointed officials. These connections help foster relationships and influence policy critical to agriculture and rural America.

Timeframe: Biannual and based on Congressional calendar 


Jr. Beef Expo, Jr. Swine Expo, Jr. Dairy Expo

Premier livestock show in Alabama, where youth earn scholarship money while competing in showmanship contests and showcasing beef cattle, dairy cattle and swine. Sponsored by the Alabama Farmers Federation.

Timeframe: March in conjunction with SLE Rodeo


Women’s Leadership Conference

Several hundred members from county Women’s Leadership Committees attend to learn leadership techniques, concentrate on Ag in the Classroom projects and join with the Alabama Farm-City Luncheon and Awards Program to recognize exceptional volunteers, programs and students.

Alabama Farm & Land Expo

Focuses on farm tours, Young Farmers events and commodity-focused workshops. The Alabama Farm & Land Expo Trade Show is held in conjunction with this event. Formerly known as Commodity Producers Conference.

Timeframe: Late July to early August


Alabama Landowners Conference

Spotlights Alabama’s natural resources through seminars and awards ceremonies. A joint effort of the Alabama TREASURE Forest Association, Alabama Natural Resources Council and Alabama Tree Farm Committee.

Alabama Fruit & Vegetable Growers Association (AFVGA) Annual Conference

Spotlights specialty crops with events including a trade show, workshops, business meeting and awards presentations.

Timeframe: February


Annual Meeting

Attended by over a thousand farmer-leaders. Delegates elect leaders and vote on policy recommendations; Young Farmers and Women’s Leadership committees are elected; and state-level awards are presented.
