Amber Smith joined the Alabama Farmers Federation Alfa Health team July 6 as a senior health customer service representative.
Alfa Health gives Federation members access to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama products through local Alfa Insurance offices and the Federation home office. In this role, Smith will help members obtain financial peace of mind.
“I cannot express how thankful I am to join the Alabama Farmers Federation, and I am excited to see what the future may hold,” said Smith, 30. “Worrying about medical expenses can be mentally debilitating, and I want to help ease potential financial burdens for as many members as I can.”
Smith is a licensed health producer. She previously worked in automotive sales and wanted to find a different way to help people.
“I knew becoming licensed in life and health insurance would open opportunities for me to have a new, fulfilling role,” Smith said.
Alfa Health Manager Lauren Bright said she was excited to welcome Smith to the department.
“Navigating the health insurance world can be daunting,” Bright said. “That’s where our team comes in. Amber is a great addition to Alfa Health and will be able to make a great impact in members’ lives.”
The Virginia native graduated in 2013 with a bachelor’s in sport management from Tusculum University in Greeneville, Tennessee. Smith and her husband, Nick, live in Prattville and have a dog, Fiona. They enjoy traveling and attending sporting events.
