Auburn University’s College of Agriculture and Agricultural Alumni Association will co-host the 39th Ag Roundup Saturday, Sept. 29, at Ag Heritage Park ahead of the Auburn Tigers’ 2018 homecoming game against the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles.
Activities will get underway at 11 a.m., four hours before kickoff.
Ag Roundup is an Auburn tradition that celebrates Alabama agriculture and its impact on the state’s economy and quality of life. This year’s event will showcase the College of Agriculture’s eight academic units and their student organizations.
“One of our goals with Ag Roundup is to give an update on how Auburn, as a land-grant university, is affecting agriculture through its research, academic and outreach programs,” said Delaney Navarro, the college's development coordinator.
Agriculture industry partners will also participate in Ag Roundup, as will local food vendors.
“Guests will have the opportunity to talk with faculty and students from the College of Agriculture and sample food products grown or processed in Alabama,” Navarro said.
Another goal of Ag Roundup is to provide financial support to students majoring in agriculture, she said, noting that all funds raised through event sponsorships directly benefit the Ag Roundup Scholarship Fund.
Ag Roundup is the college’s largest tailgate and is open to the general public. Tickets are $10 when purchased in advance at https://aub.ie/agroundup2018 or $15 at the gate. Children age 6 and under get free admission. The ticket price includes a boxed lunch with a choice of hamburger or hot dog, chips and a soft drink.
