A 12-year veteran of Alfa Insurance has been named employee and product communications director for Alfa and the Alabama Farmers Federation.

Alyssa Bethea assumed her new duties in April. She previously served as social media marketing manager for Alfa. Public Relations Department Director Jeff Helms said Bethea already is working to strengthen Alfa’s internal communications strategy.

“Alyssa brings a wealth of expertise to her new position,” Helms said. “She has extensive knowledge of Alfa’s products, strategies and goals, which will be invaluable as she develops marketing materials. In addition, Alyssa’s background in social media and relationships with coworkers throughout the Alfa organization will help her effectively communicate with employees and the sales force.”

Bethea said she’s eager to take Alfa’s employee and product communications to the next level.

“We have a lot to celebrate at Alfa, and I’m excited to energize and spotlight employees who embody our company culture — ultimately increasing our morale, unity and productivity,” Bethea said. “In my 12 years with Alfa, I’ve familiarized myself with the products and services we offer and feel confident that by communicating and promoting them effectively, we will bolster brand awareness and deepen brand loyalty among new and existing audiences.”

A Montgomery native, Bethea graduated from Troy University of Montgomery with a degree in business administration. She joined Alfa in 2007 as a research analyst and later served on the e-business team before joining the Marketing Services division.

“Alyssa has a strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills,” Helms added. “She has a passion for Alfa and using her creative talents to enhance communications and marketing. We are excited to have Alyssa on our team.”

Bethea and husband C.J. live in Pike Road. They have two daughters, Kylie and Amelia.
