Bill Would Strengthen Rural Broadband Law
Sen. Clay Scofield, R-Red Hill, has introduced a bill to strengthen the Alabama Broadband Accessibility Act he championed.
SB 90 would increase minimum service levels for grants from 10 to 25 megabits per second (Mbps) download speed and 1 to 3 Mbps upload speed. The bill also makes more projects eligible for grants to match federal funds.
