Janet Bradford, a 25-year Alfa employee, has been named manager of Alfa Health, according to J. Paul Till, administrator of the Alabama Farmers Federation.”Janet is very capable, and will serve our members and policyholders well,” said Till. “Her 25 years experience in Alfa Health is invaluable. We look forward to many more years of success under her leadership.”Alfa Health began in 1968 as Rural Health of Alabama, a member benefit originally designed to provide a health policy with group-type benefits to farmers and self-employed members. Alfa Health is underwritten by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, and provides preferred benefits for 60,000 policyholders who are members of the Alabama Farmers Federation.A Montgomery native, Bradford began her career with Alfa Health as a part-time billing clerk while still a senior at Robert E. Lee High School. She went full time in October 1981, and was later promoted to assistant office manager. In 2004, she was named assistant manager. Bradford lives in Prattville with her husband Billy Bradford, an agent with Alfa Insurance for 19 years, and two sons, Alex, 20, and Will, 14.
