The Alabama Catfish Producers sponsored the Catfish Culinary Challenge for high school students, who created dishes using U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish. The state competition was March 5 in Montgomery. Judges sampled 17 dishes and were, from left, Dr. Diane Best of Jacksonville State University, State Catfish Committee Chairman Sid Nelson of Sumter County and Alabama Farmers Federation Catfish Division Director Mitt Walker.
