Catfish producers voted unanimously Jan. 16 to continue the Alabama Catfish Checkoff another five years.

Additionally, a U.S. Department of Agriculture report showed a 7% increase in 2019 catfish sales for Alabama growers compared to 2018. In 2019, the state’s farmers sold $97 million in foodsize fish.

2020 state inventory shows a decrease in fish at 72.1 million pounds, down from 80.9 million.
