Cotton Tops State’s USDA Acreage Report

Cotton acreage is king in Alabama this year, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Southern Region June 29 Acreage Report.

Cotton planted is forecast at 490,000 acres, up 13 percent for 2018. Soybeans are up 3 percent from 2017 to 360,000 acres. Winter wheat is up 7 percent to 160,000 acres. Corn is estimated at 250,000 acres, no change from 2017.
