The Alabama Senate this week confirmed Gov. Kay Ivey’s appointments to the Alabama Environmental Commission.

Jay Masingill of Tuscaloosa fills a slot on the commission which must be certified by the National Ground Water Well Association. He is a professional geologist, and his term will expire Sept. 30, 2020. Thomas P. Walters of Montgomery fills the professional engineer seat, with a term expiring Sept. 30, 2022. 

Three other members have terms expiring Sept. 30, 2024. They are veterinarian Dr. Ruby L. Perry of Tuskegee, biologist Kevin McKinstry of Tuscaloosa and at-large member Mary J. Merritt of Enterprise.
