The deal with the European Union (EU) gives America a guaranteed share of a 45,000-ton EU quota for hormone-free beef. The U.S. gains an initial 18,500 tons of the quota, which rises to 35,000 tons after seven years.

Producers can also hay, graze or cut cover crops for silage, haylage or baleage on prevented plant acres starting Sept. 1.
