Alabama native Mary Walker has been named Region 4 Deputy Regional Administrator for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Previously, she was the Regional Water Protection Division Director. Before joining EPA, she worked with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division. 

A new awards program will recognize Auburn University (AU) researchers and Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES) personnel whose work has tangibly affected farmers and the state’s agricultural industry. The two inaugural award winners will receive research support from the Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation. They will be honored during the Commodity Producers Conference this August.
