The Alabama Farmers Federation welcomed Brooke McBrayer to its Communications Department June 1. She will serve as administrative assistant to the department, in addition to Creative Consultants Inc., the organization’s in-house ad agency.

McBrayer, 31, joins the Federation after four years as an Alfa Insurance customer sales representative (CSR). Federation Communications Department Director Jeff Helms said McBrayer’s understanding of Alfa will be invaluable in her new role.

“Brooke’s knowledge of insurance operations and real-world experience in marketing Alfa’s products will be beneficial as we craft communications for prospective customers, existing policyholders, the field force and home office employees,” Helms said. “That’s all in addition to her strong appreciation for agriculture and our members. We’re excited to welcome her to our team.”

McBrayer will work with the Alabama Farm-City program and will assist with communications activities ranging from billing and scheduling to posting content to the website and distributing event photos to media.

“I am excited to be a part of the Federation family,” she said. “I am also looking forward to learning the different aspects to our Communications Department and to be a small part in helping tell our farmers’ stories.”

A native of Marshall County, McBrayer graduated from Douglas High School in 2008. She worked as a CSR four years, first in Guntersville and most recently in Service Center 106, located on the Alfa Home Office campus.

She lives in the Millbrook area with her husband, Hunter, a commodity director in the Federation’s Governmental & Agricultural Programs Department. They have a 1-year-old son, Mason.
