Outstanding Farmers Federations from Pike, St. Clair and Mobile counties took home Superior County Awards during the Alabama Farmers Federation’s 86th Annual Meeting.Pike County, which won the top award for counties with up to 4,000 members, was recognized for such successful projects as an antique tractor show and a mini-farm that is used in Pike County Elementary Schools to promote agriculture.Meanwhile, St. Clair County took home a Superior award for counties with 4,001 to 10,000 members.St. Clair, which received seven Awards of Excellence, was recognized for its involvement in the legislative process and the activities of its Women’s Committee.Mobile County, which took home the award for counties with more than 10,000 members, received six Awards of Excellence, and was recognized for its goal-setting and tireless efforts.County board members of the Superior Award counties will receive signed 8 x 10 prints of Jack DeLoney’s “Indian Summer” during special presentations in their respective counties.
