ONE-RISE MIXER BREAD

Ingredients

1 envelope dry yeast
1/4 cup hot water
2 1/3 cups self-rising flour, divided
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon soda
1 cup sour cream
1 egg

Preparation

Dissolve yeast in hot water in a mixing bowl. Add 1 1/3 cups of the flour and all remaining ingredients. Beat at low speed of mixer for 30 seconds. Beat at high speed for 2 minutes. Stir in remaining flour. Place in well-greased loaf pan. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk, about 1 1/2-2 hours. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes, or until crust is golden brown. Remove from pan and cool on a wire rack.
