2 cups coconut
2 cups finely chopped nuts
2 (14-ounce) cans sweetened condensed milk
3 (6-ounce) boxes strawberry gelatin
1 (4-ounce) jar red sugar crystals
1 (2-ounce) package slivered almonds
Green food coloring
In a bowl, combine coconut, nuts, milk and gelatin, mixing well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 48 hours. Remove and form teaspoonfuls of mixture into strawberry shapes. Roll in red sugar. Dye almonds green with food coloring. Place an almond sliver in each berry as the “stem.” Store in refrigerator. Makes about 2 dozen.
