RANA’S RICE

Ingredients

2 sticks margarine
2 cups uncooked rice
2 (8-ounce) cans sliced water chestnuts, drained
2 (4-ounce) cans mushroom stems and pieces, drained
2 cans french-onion soup
1 soup can water
2 beef bouillon cubes
1 teaspoon curry powder

Preparation

Melt margarine in a skillet over medium heat; add rice and stir until browned. Add water chestnuts and mushrooms and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 10 minutes. Add soup, water, bouillon cubes and curry powder. Stir well. Pour into a greased 2-quart or 9- x 13-inch casserole dish and bake, covered, at 300 degrees for 1 hour. Makes 8-10 servings.
