EGG CUSTARD
Ingredients
4 tablespoons margarine
4 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup self-rising flour
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation
Heat oven to 325 degrees. Place margarine in a deep-dish pie plate and place in oven until melted. While margarine melts, beat eggs in a mixing bowl; set aside. In another bowl, combine sugar and flour; add milk and vanilla, mixing well. Pour mixture into beaten eggs and blend well. Remove pie plate from oven and pour egg mixture into margarine, not stirring. Return to oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, until center is set. (NOTE: For a chocolate egg custard, add 2 tablespoons cocoa to the sugar mixture. Continue as directed.)
