Ingredients

2 egg whites
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons light corn syrup
1/3 cup cold water
Dash of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

Bring 1-2 inches of water to a boil in bottom of a double boiler. Meanwhile, combine all ingredients except vanilla in top of the double boiler and beat on low speed of electric mixer for 1 minute. Immediately place over boiling water and beat constantly on high speed for 7 minutes, or until stiff peaks form. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and beat 2 minutes, or until frosting is thick enough to spread.
