2 pounds ground beef, frozen
1/2 cup molasses or cane syrup
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic salt to taste
Pepper to taste
2 slices bacon
1 cup each of sliced potatoes, carrots, and onions
2-3 cups V-8 vegetable juice
Rub 2 pounds of frozen ground beef with molasses (or syrup) and place in heavy iron skillet. Sprinkle well with pepper and garlic salt. Put 2 strips of bacon on top of roast.
Place sliced vegetables (potatoes, carrots and onions) around meat. Cover only the vegetables with V-8 juice. Bake 30-40 minutes at 350-400 degrees or until done.
