CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
Ingredients
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup solid vegetable shortening
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1 (3-ounce) can coconut
2 cups regular or quick-cooking oats
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 (12-ounce) package milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
Preparation
Cream sugars and shortening together well until smooth. Add flour and eggs and mix well. Stir in coconut, oats, vanilla, chips and pecans, blending well. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Remove from baking sheets to cool. Makes about 3 dozen.
