Ingredients

1 (4- to 5-pound) beef roast (chuck, rump or shoulder)
Salt and pepper, to taste
All-purpose flour
Carrots, potatoes and onions, cut into chunks
1 envelope au jus gravy mix
3 cups water

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Salt and pepper roast; roll in flour, coating well. Place in large baking pan and cook for 90 minutes or until very brown. Remove from oven. Add vegetables to your liking. Sprinkle with au jus mix and add water; cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for another 90 minutes.
