Ingredients

4 tablespoons butter
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
3 cups blueberries, rinsed and drained
2 tablespoons sugar mixed with 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Preparation

Melt butter in a medium-size saucepan; set aside to cool. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt, stirring well; set aside. To cooled butter, add milk, sugar and eggs; whisk to blend well. Gradually add butter mixture to flour mixture, mixing well. Fold in blueberries. Spread batter in a greased 8- or 9-inch square baking dish. Sprinkle with the sugar-nutmeg mixture. Bake at 350 degrees 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Place dish on a wire rack to cool at least 30 minutes before serving.
