Ingredients

3/4 cup sifted cake flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 eggs, separated
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup jelly, your favorite flavor
Powdered sugar

Preparation

In a small bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt. In a mixing bowl, beat egg yolks until light. Add sugar gradually, then vanilla. When blended, add dry ingredients. Fold in egg whites that have been whipped until stiff, but not dry. Pour batter into a jelly roll pan lined with greased wax paper. Bake in a moderate (350 degrees) oven for 10 minutes, or until light brown. Cool completely, then spread jelly over cake. Roll up and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
