Ingredients
3 sticks butter or margarine, softened
1 1/4 cups sugar
4 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1 tablespoon white wine
2 1/2 quarts pecans
1 pound candied cherries, chopped
1 pound candied pineapple, chopped
Preparation
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar together well. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Sift together the flour, baking powder and spices. Blend into creamed mixture, mixing well. Add wine. Stir in pecans and candied fruit. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees 10-12 minutes, until browned. Makes about 130 cookies.
