PUMPKIN NUT BREAD

Ingredients

2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup cooked pumpkin
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

In a mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices. Stir in pumpkin. In another bowl, combine sugar, milk, eggs and butter. Add to flour mixture, stirring only until moistened. Stir in pecans. Place batter in a greased 9- x 5-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 65 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes, then remove from pan and cool completely on a wire rack.
