Ingredients

1 pound ground beef
1 onion, sliced
2-3 red potatoes, sliced and parboiled
2 stalks celery, sliced
2 small carrots, sliced
1 (16-ounce) can whole-kernel corn, drained
Salt and pepper to taste
1 can cream of celery soup
1/2 soup can water

Preparation

Shape ground beef into four patties and grill over medium heat about 2 minutes per side, until browned but not cooked through. (Or, cook in oil over medium-high heat in a skillet just until browned.) Place browned patties in a large iron skillet. Layer, in order, onions, potatoes, celery, carrots and corn. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Combine soup and water to make gravy. Pour over all. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes. Makes 4 servings.
