Ingredients

2/3 cup solid vegetable shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups plain flour
1/2 cup chopped nuts, optional

Preparation

In a mixing bowl, cream together the shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla, blending well. Stir in flour and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees until golden brown, about 13 minutes on an insulated cookie sheet or about 10 minutes on a regular cookie sheet. Makes about 3 dozen.
