Ingredients
1 (9-inch) deep-dish piecrust
8 slices cooked, crumbled bacon or 1 cup diced ham
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 1/4 cups milk
6 eggs, beaten
1/2 teaspoon salt
Dash of nutmeg
Dash of pepper
Preparation
Prick bottom of piecrust with a fork. Bake at 450 degrees for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and reduce temperature to 375 degrees. Sprinkle bacon and cheese into crust. Combine milk, eggs, salt, nutmeg and pepper in a bowl, and beat until well blended. Pour over bacon and cheese. Bake quiche at 375 degrees 35-40 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving. (NOTE: Can be made ahead. To serve, cut into slices and heat each slice about 1 minute in the microwave.) Makes 6 servings.
