DA’S HOLIDAY WAFFLES

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 package yeast
1 cup warm milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 stick butter, melted
Fruit Topping (recipe follows)
Cream Cheese Topping (recipe follows)

Preparation

Sift flour, sugar and salt together in a mixing bowl; set aside. In a separate bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk; add eggs and melted butter. Blend yeast mixture into dry ingredients, mixing well. Set aside for 30 minutes. While batter rests, prepare Fruit Topping and Cream Cheese Topping. Stir waffle mixture well;cook in Belgian waffle maker according to manufacturer’s directions. Serve hot, with toppings. Makes 4 (7-inch) waffles.
