MIKE’S BACON-ON-A-STICK

Ingredients

1 (12-ounce) package thinly sliced “hotel brand” bacon
1 (3-ounce) box plain, thin breadsticks*
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons chili powder

Preparation

Cut bacon in half. Wrap one piece of bacon in a spiral around each breadstick. On a sheet of wax paper, combine brown sugar and chili powder. Roll wrapped breadsticks in mixture, coating bacon well. Arrange 1/2-inch apart on rack of a broiler pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, or until coating is caramelized and bacon is browned. Serve hot or at room temperature. Makes about 30. (*Mike uses Alessi brand breadsticks.)
