MARINATED VEGETABLES

Ingredients

3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup vinegar
1/2 cup oil
2 tablespoons paprika
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon water
1 onion, chopped or thinly sliced into rings
1 cup diced celery
1 bell pepper, chopped or thinly sliced into rings
1 (16-ounce) can English peas, drained
1 (16-ounce) can cut green beans, drained

Preparation

Combine sugar and next six ingredients, blending well. Combine vegetables in a bowl; blend in marinade. Cover and refrigerate 24 hours. Use a slotted spoon for serving. Mixture will keep 2-3 weeks in refrigerator. Makes 6 servings. (Recipe can be doubled or tripled.)
