PEANUT CHEW

Ingredients

1 cup salted roasted peanuts
4 cups crispy rice cereal
1 cup sugar
1 cup syrup*
1 cup crunchy peanut butter

Preparation

Combine peanuts and cereal in a large mixing bowl; set aside. In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar and syrup. Bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, and beat in peanut butter until smooth. Immediately pour syrup mixture over peanuts and cereal, stirring quickly to mix well. Pour into a well-greased 9-x13-inch pan. Cool and cut into squares. (*Orval recommends Golden Eagle Syrup.)
