Ingredients

1 box yellow cake mix
2 cups chopped figs
Foamy Sauce:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg yolk
1 egg white, stiffly beaten
Pinch of salt

Preparation

Combine cake mix and figs in a mixing bowl; prepare and bake according to package directions. Cool and crumble into a glass serving bowl. To make Foamy Sauce: Melt butter in a double boiler over simmering water; gradually add sugar, vanilla and egg yolk, stirring well, until smooth. Remove from heat; fold in egg white and salt. Spoon sauce over crumbled cake and stir to blend.
