STRAWBERRY CHEESE BALL
3 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 (8-ounce) box chopped dates
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 cup chopped pecans, divided
1 (12-ounce) jar strawberry preserves, chilled
In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, dates, mayonnaise and 1/3 cup of the pecans. Blend together well and shape into a ball. Spread remaining pecans on waxed paper. Roll ball in nuts to cover. Wrap in waxed paper and refrigerate until firm. Just before serving, pour preserves over cheese ball. Serve with oblong buttery-flavored crackers.
