GRAN’S CHOCOLATE COOKIES

Ingredients

3/4 cup oil
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
Powdered sugar

Preparation

Mix together the oil, sugar and cocoa. Add eggs, beating well after each addition. Stir in flour, vanilla, salt and baking powder. Chill dough for 2 hours; roll into 1-inch balls, and roll each ball in powdered sugar to coat. Place on lightly greased cookie sheets and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. (NOTE: Chilled dough can be rolled into logs about 2 inches in diameter, wrapped in wax paper and stored in plastic freezer bags. To bake, slice frozen logs into 1/4-inch slices. Place on cookie sheets and sift powdered sugar over cookies. Bake as directed.) Makes about 3 dozen.
